This month's Hometown Spotlight is one that I am proud to brag about, The Café on Cotton, which is nestled in the heart of downtown Millen on Cotton Avenue.

The Café on Cotton in Millen, Ga

The building has served many purposes in the past, but for the past decade, The Café on Cotton has been owned and operated by Amber Cates, a Millen native who loves to call Millen her hometown. Amber is not only a devoted businesswoman but also a loving wife to Ryan Cates and a mother to two wonderful boys, Chandler and Jaxten. Amber has been in the restaurant workplace for 21 years, beginning as a waitress.

Amber's career trajectory soared as she worked her way up, eventually becoming a salesperson for Sysco Foods. In 2013, she had the opportunity to purchase the local restaurant that we now know as "The Café on Cotton."

Over the years, this café  has grown into a fantastic business that is loved by many people. Amber's commitment extends beyond her business, as she generously serves the Millen Rotary Club every Wednesday at noon and plays host to various local events, including the annual NWTF Banquet.

The Café on Cotton offers a Southern-style buffet and salad bar, alongside an enticing menu featuring items such as wraps, quesadillas, burgers, sandwiches, and much more. While you enjoy your meal you can enjoy the view of the historic railway and Cotton Avenue. The food and service is nothing short of spectacular as well as the great handmade deserts to follow.

When you walk through the doors you are greeted immediately with friendly smiles and cheerful staff ready to serve you. If you find yourself in Millen, consider The Café on Cotton a must-visit destination. They welcome guests from Sunday to Friday, serving from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
